Chocolate Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1/2 c. shortening
6 heaping tsp. cocoa
1/2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
Preparation

Mix sugar and shortening.
Add eggs; beat well.
Add sour milk.
Mix all the dry ingredients together and add next.
Add vanilla.
Add the boiling water last.
Bake in two 8-inch pans at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes, or until done.
When cool, split layers and fill with custard filling, giving you a four-layer cake.
Frost with your favorite frosting.
