Lucy'S Pasties (Meat Pies) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef or turkey
    1 large onion, chopped
    3 medium baking potatoes, peeled and cubed
    5 large carrots, chopped small
    5 c. flour
    1 2/3 c. shortening
    1 tsp. salt
    1/3 to 1/2 c. cold water
    salt and pepper to taste
    Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
    Combine first four ingredients in large mixing bowl; add salt and pepper.
    Shake Worcestershire sauce liberally and mix until you see sauce.
    Cut shortening into flour and salt with pastry cutter until crumbly.
    Add water gradually to form a dough.
    Flour pastry board or counter.
    Roll out a handful of dough at a time (tennis ball size) until very thin and about the size of a luncheon plate.
    Scoop a cooking spoonful of filling onto pastry (size can vary).
    Bring top and bottom edges of pastry together and pinch together all the way down to the edges.
    Overlap two sides over top.
