Near East Meatballs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    2 Tbsp. milk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 pkg. onion soup mix
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    minced parsley
Preparation
    Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, milk and salt.
    Shape into 18 meatballs.
    Brown meatballs in shortening.
    Pour in soup and water; bring to a boil.
    Stir in rice and cover.
    Simmer 30 minutes or until rice is tender.
    Stir often.
    Garnish with parsley.
