Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. uncooked instant rice
    1 can (14 1/2 oz.) tomatoes with liquid, cut up
    1 c. boiling water
    2 beef bouillon cubes
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
    Add rice and stir until browned.
    Add remaining ingredients; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10-15 minutes or until the liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.
    Remove bay leaf before serving.
