Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 stick oleo
    2/3 c. white syrup
    3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Combine ingredients, except vanilla and nuts, and cook in saucepan until it is in soft ball stage.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla and nuts.
    Beat until thickened and glossy.
    Pour into a buttered 9 x 9-inch baking dish.
    Serve when cooled.
