Dinner Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. all-purpose flour
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. milk
    1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening, margarine or butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
Preparation
Combine 2 cups flour with yeast.
Heat and stir milk, sugar, shortening and salt just until warm.
Add to flour mixture along with the eggs.
Beat with electric mixer on low speed for 30 seconds.
Beat on high speed 1 to 3 minutes.
Using a spoon, stir in as much of remaining flour as you can.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead in enough remaining flour to make a moderately stiff dough that is smooth and elastic (6 to 8 minutes total).
    Shape dough into a ball.
Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease surface.
Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour (for high altitude, punch down and let rise again).
Punch down and turn out onto lightly floured surface.
    Divide dough in half.
Cover and let rest 10 minutes. Grease muffin pan and put 3 little balls in each one (approximately 1 tablespoon per ball).
Cover and let rise in warm place, about 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375\u00b0 and bake for 12 minutes.
    Makes 18 to 24 rolls.
