Prune Whip Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. cooked prunes, pitted and chopped
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 egg whites
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. chopped nuts
    1 pastry shell, baked (9-inch)
Preparation
    Add salt to room temperature egg whites.
    Beat until stiff. Beat in sugar gradually.
    Add lemon juice and vanilla.
    Fold in prunes and nuts.
    Pile lightly into baked pie shell.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 40 minutes or until delicately browned.
