German Red Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion
    1 unpeeled apple, cored and sliced
    1 medium red cabbage, shredded
    1/3 c. sugar or equivalent sweetener
    1/3 c. white or cider vinegar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Coat inside of large Dutch oven with nonstick cooking spray. Saute onion and apple until tender.
    Add all remaining ingredients.
    Cover and cook until about 1 hour.
    Serve hot or cold.
    Yields 10 servings.
