Inexpensive Fruitcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. brown sugar
1 1/4 c. water
1/3 c. shortening
2 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves (if desired)
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. water
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder

Preparation

Mix the first 6 ingredients and cloves, if used, in a saucepan. Bring to boil for 3 minutes. Cool. Then add a mixture of soda, salt and water. Sift together flour and baking powder and blend into cake. Grease or use Pam and spray the little size pans, 3 of them, or you can use big loaf pan, also. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until done.
