Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef, cubed in 1-inch squares
    1 large onion, sliced
    salt and pepper
    1/2 c. water
    5 small potatoes
    4 small carrots
    1 c. tomatoes and another 1/4 c. water
    canned corn
Preparation
    Brown meat and add onion, salt, pepper and water.
    Place small potatoes, carrots and tomatoes over or around meat.
    Cook over low heat about 2 or 3 hours, until tender.
    Add corn; cook about 10 minutes.
