Fresh Strawberry Pie(Jackie Brunson'S) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 qt. strawberries
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 (9-inch) pie shell
Preparation
    Wash, drain and stem strawberries.
    Place the berries in the bottom of the baked pie shell. Slowly cook the sugar, cornstarch, water and salt until glossy.
    Pour the hot mixture over the strawberries and place into the refrigerator until cold.
    (May add a few drops of red food coloring.)
    Just before serving, cover with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
