Wedding Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 (12 oz.) can frozen orange juice
    4 qt. ginger ale
    2 pt. pineapple sherbet
    2 c. water
Preparation
    Heat sugar and water until sugar dissolves.
    Cool.
    Combine syrup, fruit juice and ginger ale in a punch bowl.
    Add ice cubes. Drop sherbet by spoonfuls.
    Yields 50 servings.
