Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
    1/2 c. Crisco shortening
    2 c. cake flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. coconut
Preparation
    Separate eggs and beat egg whites until stiff; set aside. Cream margarine and shortening.
    Add sugar; beat until smooth. Add eggs to creamed mixture and mix well.
    Sift flour and soda together.
    Add flour mixture to creamed mixture alternating with buttermilk.
    Fold in nuts and coconut.
    Add egg whites and vanilla.
