Shanghai Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. ground beef
    2 Tbsp. lard or drippings
    1 c. finely chopped onion
    10 1/2 oz. can condensed cream of mushroom soup
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 c. chopped celery
    3 oz. can Chinese noodles
    1 (10 1/2 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
Preparation
    Brown beef in lard or drippings.
    Add onion and cook until tender.
    Pour off drippings.
    Cook vegetables in water for 5 minutes and drain.
    Combine vegetables, soup, salt, pepper, soy sauce and celery and stir into meat mixture.
    Place in 2 1/2-quart casserole dish.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
    Remove cover, sprinkle with Chinese noodles and bake 5 minutes longer.
