"Lazy Daisy" Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 c. Quick Quaker oats (uncooked)
    1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 eggs
    1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted with 1 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oats; cover and let stand for 20 minutes.
    Beat butter until creamy; gradually add sugars and beat until fluffy.
    Blend in vanilla and eggs.
    Add oats mixture.
    Mix well.
    Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture.
    Mix well. Pour into well-greased and floured 9-inch square or jelly roll pan.
    Bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
