Marinated Relish Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large or 2 medium red onions, sliced thinly
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dill weed
Preparation
    Bring sugar, vinegar, water and salt to a boil.
    Add dill weed.
    Pour hot mixture over sliced onions in a refrigerator jar. Cover with lid; refrigerate until used.
    Best to shake jar several times while cooling so marinade covers all onions.
