Fruit Cocktail Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. soda
    2 eggs
    2 c. fruit cocktail
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix juice with all ingredients except fruit cocktail and nuts. Mix well, then blend in fruit.
    Combine nuts with 1/2 cup of sugar and sprinkle on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 in a 9 x 12-inch pan. Serve with whipped cream.
