Hamburger Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 qt. water
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 large chopped onion
    2 medium potatoes, chopped
    1 (8 oz.) can whole kernel corn
    1 (8 oz.) can green beans
    pinch of sweet basil
    1/3 c. rice
    3 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. oregano
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Preparation
    Brown hamburger in large kettle; add the water, seasonings and tomatoes (mashed).
    Simmer slowly 1 hour.
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer 30 minutes.
    Serve with a big pan of cornbread and lots of cold milk; put some bright jelly on the table to spread on corn bread.
    (Makes a good meal.)
