*Swedish Nuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. pecans (about 4 c.)
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
dash of salt
1/2 c. butter or margarine
Preparation

Toast nuts in slow oven at 325\u00b0 until light brown.
Fold sugar, salt and vanilla in egg whites (stiff) and add the nuts. Meanwhile, melt butter or oleo in same pan in which nuts were in. Blend nuts well into egg white mixture and put into pan with butter.
Bake in a slow 325\u00b0 oven for about 30 minutes, until nuts are coated with brown covering and sugar and butter are gone. Spread on waxed paper and separate to cool.
Put in tins and nuts will keep for several months.
Makes about 4 cups of nuts.
