Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
dash of salt
1 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. canned chocolate syrup
2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. walnuts or pecans, chopped
nuts for garnish
Preparation

Cream together butter, sugar and eggs until well blended.
Add salt.
Stir in flour; blend well.
Add chocolate syrup, vanilla and nuts.
Turn mixture into well greased and floured 9-inch square pan.
Smooth top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Loosen edges.
Cool in pan on wire rack.
Cut in squares and garnish with pecans or walnuts halves or dust with powdered sugar.
