Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. squash, sliced thin
    2 to 3 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. salt
    3 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped hot pepper
    1 c. bell pepper
    2 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. celery salt*
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed*
Preparation
    *Four tablespoons pickling spice may be used instead of the celery salt and the mustard seed.
