Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 1/2 c. flour (use 1/2 c. to flour candy, dates and nuts)
3 1/4 oz. coconut
2 c. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking soda
4 eggs
2 c. pecan halves
1 lb. orange slice candy, cut in half
1/2 lb. pitted dates
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. orange juice
2 c. powdered sugar mixture
Preparation

In large bowl, flour the cut candy slices, dates, nuts and coconut in the 1/2 cup flour.
Cream sugar and shortening.
Add soda to buttermilk and add milk and dry ingredients alternately to the sugar mixture.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Add vanilla. Stir in fruit and nuts.
