Old Fashioned Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. cocoa
    3 heaping Tbsp. white syrup
    3 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
    1 can Pet milk
    1 stick margarine
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Cook sugar, salt, cocoa, milk and white syrup on high to bring to boil and turn down low.
    Find the setting that will keep it at a rolling simmer.
    Cook to medium ball in water (takes a minimum of 40 minutes).
    `Set off fire and add oleo.
    Let set 10 minutes to cool.
    Add nuts and vanilla.
    Beat by hand until thick. Pour into buttered pan.
