Hoe Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. corn meal
1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. bacon fat
1 c. hot water
1 1/2 c. cold water
Preparation

Mix salt in cornmeal, pour on hot water, then add enough cold water to thin mush so it pours slowly out of the bowl.
Add fat. Pour mush by spoonfuls on a hot griddle or skillet.
Turn on both sides to brown.
