Wedding Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. lime juice
    1 pt. pineapple sherbet
    3 1/2 c. lemon-lime carbonated beverage
    2 c. water
    2 tsp. grated lime rind
    1 pt. lime sherbet
Preparation
    Combine sugar and 1 cup water in saucepan.
    Cook, stirring until sugar dissolves.
    Add remaining water, lime juice and lime rind; chill.
    Spoon sherbet into punch.
    Add lemon-lime beverage. Yields about 2 1/2 quarts.
