Harvard Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. vinegar
    10 to 12 whole cloves
    2 cans sliced beets
Preparation
    Mix sugar and cornstarch well.
    Add vinegar and cloves.
    Bring to a boil.
    Drain beets and pour into boiling sauce.
    Simmer for 20 minutes.
