Ma Mapes Clove Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 1/4 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1 Tbsp. cloves
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

Preparation

Work butter until creamy.
Add sugar.
Beat eggs; mix with butter and sugar.
Sift flour, cinnamon, cloves and salt.
Beat 1/3 of flour and 1/2 cup of milk with creamy mixture.
Mix soda with rest of milk and add with flour to mixture; mix well.
Pour into greased Bundt pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes in pan.
Keeps well.
