Mexican Rice - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. uncooked rice
2 Tbsp. shortening
1/2 medium onion, diced
1/2 clove garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 c. tomatoes, chopped
1/2 lb. ground meat
1 c. water
Preparation

Fry rice in 1 tablespoon shortening until brown.
Remove and fry ground meat, onion, garlic, salt, chili powder and tomatoes. Combine meat, rice and water in casserole dish.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
Makes 4 servings.
