English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3 to 5 Hershey bars
    1 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. water
    3/4 c. walnuts, chopped
Preparation
    Sprinkle nuts in 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
    In 3-quart saucepan, melt margarine; add sugars and water.
    Mix well.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Continue to cook to 300\u00b0 or hard crack stage.
    Remove from heat and stir in soda.
    Pour over nuts in pan.
    Let cool 5 minutes.
    Place chocolate bars (in pieces) on toffee.
    As heat melts them, spread the chocolate.
    When completely cool, break into pieces.
