Baked Custard - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 egg
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
nutmeg (if desired)
2 Tbsp. sugar or honey
1/4 c. milk or half and half
Preparation

Put 3/4-inch deep hot water in a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
Place in oven.
Preheat oven to 325\u00b0 (165\u00b0 Celsius).
Lightly beat egg in a medium bowl.
Blend in sugar or honey, vanilla and salt. Blend in milk or half and half.
Pour into 2 (6 ounce) custard cups or souffle pots.
Sprinkle with nutmeg, if desired.
Place cups in hot water bath in oven.
Bake 40 to 45 minutes until a knife inserted just off center comes out clean.
A watery residue indicates overbaking.
Cool before serving.
