Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. cloves
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
2/3 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, unbeaten
1 c. walnuts, finely chopped
Preparation

Add flour, baking powder, soda, salt, spices and white sugar. Put Crisco in mixer bowl, stir to soften.
Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk to soften Crisco.
Add brown sugar. Beat and add eggs and beat well.
Bake in 2 (8-inch) round cake pans.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 35 to 45 minutes.
