Peggy Hunt'S Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 qt. sliced cucumbers
    6 medium onions, sliced
    2 green peppers, sliced
    3 cloves garlic (whole)
    1/3 c. salt
    5 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    3 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Add salt to first 4 ingredients.
    Cover with ice water.
    Let stand 3 hours.
    Drain; remove garlic.
    Combine rest of ingredients.
    Pour over vegetables.
    Heat to boiling.
    Put in jars and seal.
