Divinity Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
    2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
Preparation
    Mix sugar, syrup and water in saucepan.
    Boil until a few drops placed in a cup of cold water forms a soft ball when rolled between the thumb and second finger (235\u00b0 on a candy thermometer).
    Then pour half the boiling mixture over the stiffly beaten egg whites and stir.
    Return the remaining half of the mixture to the heat and boil until a few drops placed in a cup of cold water form a hard ball (260\u00b0 on a candy thermometer).
    Combine with egg mixture.
    Add nuts and vanilla, working fast.
    Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls on a well buttered cookie sheet.
