Pickled Squash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. squash, sliced thin
    2 c. onions, sliced thin
    salt
    2 c. vinegar
    4 green peppers, chopped well
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    3 c. sugar
    dill (if desired)
Preparation
    Put squash and onions together and salt; set aside 1 hour. Drain well.
    Mix vinegar, sugar, celery seed, mustard seed and pepper; bring to a good boil.
    Add squash and onions; let it come to a boil.
    Put in pint jars and seal.
