Apple Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. tart cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut in 1/2-inch lengthwise slices (about 4 large)
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1 c. flour, lightly spooned into the cup
    1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 c. butter or melted margarine
    3/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. heavy cream, softly whipped
Preparation
    Spread apples in buttered shallow baking dish (about 2-quart capacity).
    Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon.
    Mix butter and vanilla and add to flour mixture, tossing with a fork to make a crumbly mixture.
    Sprinkle evenly over apples.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes or until brown and apples are tender.
    Let cool partially, then top with cream.
    Makes about 6 servings.
