Bird'S Pear Preserves - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raw fruit
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Cook on low to melt sugar.
    Add pears and cook until pears are red and tender.
    Test by putting a drop of broth in cold water.
    If it makes a soft ball, it is ready.
    Do not boil.
    Put in jars; have lids warm.
