Salsa Marinara - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 onion, minced
    2 garlic cloves, minced
    1/2 c. extra virgin olive oil
    2 lb. ripe tomatoes or 2 (28 oz.) cans whole tomatoes
    pinch of sugar
    salt
    pepper
Preparation
    In a medium-large saucepan over medium heat, cook onion and garlic in the oil, stirring occasionally for 5 minutes. Stir in the tomatoes, sugar and salt and pepper and simmer, covered, stirring occasionally for 25 minutes.
