Peanut Butter Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. syrup (Karo is best)
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2/3 c. peanut butter (regular or chunky)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Put first 4 ingredients in a medium saucepan and bring to a rolling boil.
    Boil, stirring constantly, until the mixture forms a soft ball when dropped into a cup of water.
    Take off heat and add peanut butter; do not stir.
    When peanut butter has melted, stir until the mixture thickens and begins to loose its gloss.
    Pour into buttered cookie sheet.
    Cool until firm.
    Cut into small pieces.
    Makes about 2 pounds.
