Ambrosia Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1/2 c. cocoa
    3 c. flour
    1 apple, peeled and chopped fine
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. buttermilk (add 2 tsp. soda)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one.
    Add flour, cocoa and spices.
    Add this alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture, then add apple.
    Cook in 3 layers in 350\u00b0 oven.
