Date-Nut Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 c. milk
    2 beaten egg yolks (beat egg whites in separate bowl)
    1 to 2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped dates
    1/2 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped
Preparation
    Cream together the sugar and margarine; add the next 5 ingredients except the egg whites, then fold in the beaten egg whites.
    Put mixture into a 9-inch pie shell and bake at 325\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Before serving, may be garnished with a bit of whipped cream.
