Shake Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. sliced cucumbers (picklers are best)
    1 to 2 onions, sliced
    3/4 to 2 Tbsp. sugar
    3/4 c. cider vinegar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. alum
    1/4 tsp. celery salt
    1/4 tsp. mustard seed
    1/4 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Place sliced cucumbers and onions in a wide mouth quart jar. Mix together remaining ingredients.
    Pour over cucumbers and onions.
    Place a tight lid on jar.
    Place jar in refrigerator. Shake jar once a day for 6 days.
    These can be served after 6 days. These will keep a long time.
