Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. coconut
apricot preserves
Preparation

Cream together sugar, shortening, egg and vanilla.
Add flour, salt and coconut; combine.
Spread 3/4 of combined mixture on greased cookie sheet.
Spread with apricot preserves.
Crumble remaining mixture on top.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes.
Cut into squares.
