Chess Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 egg yolks (beaten well)
    1 c. pet milk
    1 (9 inch) pie crust
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Adjust oven rack 5 to 6 inches from bottom of oven. Cream butter while gradually adding sugar. Stir in vanilla first then flour and salt. Beat
    until well blended. Stir in egg yolks and gradually add milk. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to 325 degrees and bake another 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from oven to cool. Custard should be slightly soft in the center. It will become firm when it cools.
