Mystery Pudding Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 beaten egg
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (16 oz.) can fruit cocktail (do not drain)
Preparation
    Mix together; pour into ungreased 9 x 9-inch pan.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup nuts.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Serve with whipped cream.
