Tomato And Onion Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green tomatoes, sliced
    1 gal. onions, sliced thin
    3 medium size pods hot green pepper
    1 c. salt
    2 c. vinegar
    3 c. sugar
Preparation
    Prepare tomatoes, onions and pepper.
    Add the salt; stir thoroughly.
    Let stand overnight.
    Next morning, drain off the liquid and pour water over mixture 2 or 3 times.
    Be sure to drain thoroughly to get out salt.
    Add the vinegar and sugar that has been dissolved.
    Let mixture cook until tender.
    Can in sterilized jars and seal.
    Makes 3 quarts or 10 pints.
    Delicious with cooked vegetables.
