Ingredients

1/3 c. cornstarch or flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk, scalded
3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp. butter
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg whites
Preparation

Mix cocoa in small amount of scalded milk.
Add flour, sugar and salt.
Add milk and cook until thick.
Add egg yolks, stirring constantly.
Add butter and vanilla.
Pour into baked pastry shell.
Cover with meringue and refrigerate.
