Steak And Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. round steak or sirloin tip
    3 Tbsp. oil
    1 Tbsp. minced garlic
    1 small onion
    6 potatoes, diced
    4 stalks celery with leaves, chopped
    1 small onion, chopped fine
    4 sprigs parsley, chopped fine
    8 c. water
    1/2 c. instant mashed potatoes
    1 c. half and half cream
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    In separate pot, cook vegetables in salted water until tender. Add cooked meat.
    Add instant mashed potatoes as thickener. Correct seasoning.
    Cool for about 1/2 hour and stir in half and half cream.
