Blond Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. butter, melted
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 beaten egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. nuts
    1/2 pkg. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Add 1/2 cup nuts and set aside.
    Add brown sugar to melted butter and cool slightly.
    (If vegetable shortening is used, add 1 tablespoon hot water.)
    Add 1 beaten egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla.
    Add flour mixture a small amount at a time.
    Mix well after each addition. Spread into a 9 x 9 x 2-inch greased pan.
    Sprinkle 1/2 bag of chocolate chips on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Cool in pan 24 hours.
