Pumpkin Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 c. soft margarine
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. pumpkin
    1 egg
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 c. dates or raisins
Preparation
    Sift all dry ingredients.
    Cream together beaten egg, sugar and shortening.
    Add vanilla and pumpkin last.
    Then add dates or raisins and nuts.
    Beat until all blended.
    (May add up to 1/4 cup extra flour if batter is too moist.)
    Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheet.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 until light brown, about 25 minutes.
    Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
