Green Tomato Pickle Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green tomatoes
    6 onions
    1/4 c. salt
    3 c. sugar
    2 pods hot red pepper
    1 Tbsp. ground mustard
    3 pods red sweet pepper
    4 to 5 Tbsp. mixed pickle spices
Preparation
    Slice tomatoes and onions.
    Chop up peppers.
    Sprinkle with salt and let stand overnight; drain.
    Boil the sugar and seasonings with vinegar approximately 5 minutes.
    (Tie spices in a bag.)
    Cool slightly.
    Add tomatoes, etc., and simmer approximately 60 minutes until a syrup forms.
    Pack in hot jars and seal.
